Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”) carefully. By creating an account, funding a wallet, renting a number, or otherwise using Numbverify (“Service”), you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, and Refund & Cancellation Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Important: This document is a practical service agreement for product launch. It is not a substitute for counsel in your jurisdiction. We may update these Terms; continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.

1. Who we are

“Numbverify,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator of the Numbverify Service. Contact details are listed on our Contact us page.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live).
• You must have legal capacity to enter a binding agreement.
• You may not use the Service if you are prohibited from doing so under applicable law.
• If you use Numbverify on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

3. The Service

Numbverify provides access to temporary phone numbers for receiving SMS verification messages, account tools, wallet balances, order history, and related support. Number inventory and SMS delivery may rely on third-party telecommunications and activation providers.

3.1 Nature of numbers

Numbers are generally short-lived, often one-time activation numbers with limited validity windows. Delivery depends on the selected country, service category, provider inventory, and destination platform behavior. We do not guarantee that every destination service will accept every number.

3.2 Default country

The Rent Number experience defaults to the United States. You may select another available country where offered.

3.3 Pricing

Prices are shown in Naira before you rent and may change until an order is confirmed. The amount displayed at confirmation is the amount deducted from your wallet.

4. Accounts

• You must provide accurate registration information and keep it updated.
• You are responsible for safeguarding credentials and for activity under your account.
• Notify us promptly of suspected unauthorized access.
• We may refuse, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or present risk.

5. Wallet, payments, and Add Funds

Orders are paid from your Numbverify wallet balance. You may add funds through supported payment processors such as Flutterwave or Paystack (availability may vary by region).

• Payment processing is handled by third-party processors under their terms.
• Wallet credits are not bank deposits, stored-value instruments beyond service credit, or interest-bearing.
• We may set minimum/maximum top-up amounts, velocity limits, and fraud controls.
• Chargebacks, disputed payments, or reversed funding may result in wallet debit, order cancellation, or account suspension.

6. Orders, delivery, cancellations, and refunds

6.1 Order formation

An order is created when you confirm a rental and we successfully reserve a number (or attempt reservation through a provider). Wallet funds are debited according to the confirmed customer price.

6.2 Delivery

SMS delivery is not instantaneous and is not guaranteed. Factors outside our control include provider outages, destination filtering, wrong service selection, expired activations, and third-party platform anti-abuse systems.

6.3 Cancellation

Where cancellation is still available under provider rules and before SMS receipt, you may cancel. Refunds of wallet credit, if any, follow our refund policy and provider constraints.

6.4 Refunds

Refunds follow our Refund & Cancellation Policy. When granted, they are typically returned to wallet balance rather than the original payment method, unless required otherwise by law or payment-provider rules. No refund is due solely because a destination app rejected a number, an incorrect service was selected, or an activation window expired after successful reservation under published conditions.

7. Acceptable use

You must follow our Acceptable Use Policy. In summary, you agree not to use Numbverify to:

• Commit fraud, identity theft, phishing, spam, or unauthorized access
• Bypass law enforcement, sanctions, or lawful investigations
• Violate the terms of destination platforms or third-party services
• Harass, exploit, or harm others, including minors
• Resell the Service in a manner that misrepresents Numbverify or conceals abuse
• Attack, scrape excessively, reverse engineer, or disrupt our systems or providers
• Use automated bots to place abusive volumes of orders without our written approval

We may investigate suspected misuse, share necessary information with payment providers or authorities where legally required, and permanently ban accounts.

8. Third-party services

The Service depends on infrastructure such as hosting, authentication/database providers, payment processors, and SMS/number suppliers. Their availability, policies, and performance affect Numbverify. We are not responsible for third-party outages beyond commercially reasonable mitigation.

9. Intellectual property

Numbverify branding, interface, documentation, and software are owned by us or our licensors. You receive a limited, revocable, non-exclusive right to use the Service as permitted by these Terms. You may not copy, scrape for competitive training, or exploit our content except as allowed by law.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT UNINTERRUPTED SERVICE, ERROR-FREE OPERATION, OR THAT ANY PARTICULAR SMS WILL BE DELIVERED OR ACCEPTED BY A DESTINATION PLATFORM.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NUMBVERIFY AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO NUMBVERIFY FOR THE ORDER GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM IN THE THREE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT, OR (B) USD $50.

12. Indemnity

You will indemnify and hold harmless Numbverify from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, violation of these Terms, or violation of law or third-party rights.

13. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access immediately for risk, abuse, non-payment, legal compulsion, or material breach. Provisions that by nature should survive (including liability limits, indemnity, and IP) will survive termination.

14. Changes to the Service or Terms

We may modify features, pricing methodology, supported countries/services, or these Terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

15. Governing law and disputes

Unless mandatory local law provides otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator’s principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in that venue will have exclusive jurisdiction, except where consumer protections require otherwise.
